Those of you who are acquainted with our blog will be aware that in addition to all the Street Art and Graffiti from around London we document and share on London Calling Blog we have also over the years began delving into various projects involving us finding legal walls for artists to paint across a number of community focused initiatives around South-East London. Of which the most rewarding has been the organization of Street Art in our hometown of Penge through our SprayExhibition20 Community Street Art Project, which has seen us facilitate some 261 artworks placed up around Penge and Anerley over the last four years.
To this end we wished to notify our loyal viewers that we have a fabulous new sister site focused entirely on the project we are responsible for implementing with artists and local businesses and residents across Penge and Anerley – www.Pengestreetart.com – where people can stay up to date with all the work we are responsible for in the area. For anyone who wishes to sign up to our mailing list in order to receive updates on the project we run in Penge and Anerley including: news on new artworks, free tours and volunteering opportunities. As well as to those who wish to donate a space to the project you can do so here:
Additionally our project is in fact four years old this week so below is what we have organised over the last four years around our amazing hometown. THANK YOU to everyone involved; artists, residents, businesses, photographers and everyone else! Here’s to many more painted walls and exciting plans for the area setting to bring free Street Art to the area and keep the public sphere free from advertisers. Organised by locals for the locals.
