Lastly in our series of reviews of the last year we are going to take a look back at the year of Graffiti and Street Art in Stockwell. The bulk of the works below are from the Stockwell Hall of Fame, somewhere which is a must visit location as in terms of legal painting walls around London this place attracts the very best in quality Graffiti. In May the Stockwell Hall of Fame reopened after a 8 month closure. It may have a new look but it is still definitely the best place to see Graffiti in London. The space has been redesigned so to not only provide spaces for artists to legally paint any time but make the space more accessible and inclusive to the local community. Something which has very much been achieved, there is certainly an exceptionally positive vibe about the Hall of Fame at current and why shouldn’t there be. We have to say a big Well Done to Solo One who is not only largely solely responsible for the Hall of Fame even existing the last 20 years but has worked with the housing association and convinced them to spend 1 million Pounds protecting the 20 year tradition of Graffiti in Stockwell and created a legacy for the entire scene with this revamped space for all. A remarkable achievement. We also have had as steady stream of works from Stockwell Lane were we are no long running our Love Lane project, however the local Paint Shop – Wild Style Graff Cafe – has done a fantastic job keeping the area alive with art as well as securing some walls in the nearby Slade Gardens..
