At the weekend we here at London Calling Blog were delighted to see the creation of the second work in our local area of Penge, SE20, with a beautiful work placed up by Street Artist Morgandy, put up with a little support from us. Morgandy has certainly added his own mark to area. Shutters can be a tricky business, not suiting some artists style, but Morgandy didn’t let the surface show up his work, setting to construct one of his distinct and absorbing flowing abstract creations. The organic and free dynamic in Morgandy’s work is always a great sight, to see the way the colours sit aside each other and the shapes form and merge, culminating in a crescendo of energy.
We would like to say a big thanks to the kind staff at the X-Ray Africago Shop for their immediate support to our project, allowing us to get Morgandy add something so beautiful to their property. We also would like to offer a big thanks to Morgandy, someone whose art we have long admired, for coming down to add this delightful work which really brightens up the road. We couldn’t be happier with the latest addition to SprayExhibition20 for us and the local SE20 community.
Morgandy laying down his very first outlines for a purely spontaneous design.
Morgandy adding the very first of many colour fills.
The many colours of Morgandy.
Morgandy finishing up Saturday night.
Back fresh and early to enjoy the days sunshine and work his stuff, Morgandy at work.
Morgandy finishing up the work on Sunday night.
The beautiful finished piece, so much flow and an interestingly rather sedate colour palette by Morgandy’s standards, but one that really suits its immediate surroundings and very much commands your full attention as you walk on past.
DO YOU HAVE ANY WALLS/SHUTTERS/HOARDINGS WE CAN PAINT? Which are SE20 based! If so email us at callinglondoninfo@gmail.com
