For our next post we are taking a look at an absolutely incredible work placed up a few weeks back for our SprayExhibition20 Community Street Art Project around Penge and Anerley by street artists Fanakapan and Nerone. This amazing artwork titled Neighbourhood Watch marks the first time this pair have collaborated together on a wall and we feel ever so privileged that it is located in SE20. The piece fuses each of the artists respective styles so perfectly, with Fanakapan’s hyper-realistic helium balloons accompanied by Nerone’s rich retro style flowers. This piece is surreal but generates such a fun, warm and all round striking atmosphere. We very much love seeing two diverse styles flowing together so harmoniously. We particularly love how Fanakapan incorporated the single existing window into his central subject, along with the building opposite reflecting in the balloon. Along with the magnificent dripping effect oozing from Nerone’s flowers, simply beautiful.
We wish to say a huge thank you to the owners of the space who kindly donated an absolutely lovely spot and trusted us to work it. As well as a massive thank you to Fanakapan and Nerone for both coming back to the area to again support this initiative and for leaving an absolutely excellent artwork in the process. Last but by no means least a big thank you to Kevin and Street Art Atlas for all the help around this spot. This stunning work can be found in Raleigh Road, Penge, and was put up with support from ourselves London Calling Blog.
