A month or so back we looked at a beautiful portrait placed up in Hackney Wick recently (covered here), since then EPOD has created a second work in the same style from this seemingly planet themed series. Having only recently had the opportunity to witness this artists output in person, it was such a pleasure that when we went to go see this latest work titled MERCURY I his previous portrait – MARS I – was still there and we got to enjoy both of these artworks set side by side. In both of these striking artworks EPOD masterfully fused photo-realistic portraiture, in this instance of a female subject, with geometry and a minimalist background to create a piece so very rich in substance. We look forward to seeing what comes next from this artist on walls around London.
