This morning we thought we would like to take a look at this trio of intriguing works by piece by visiting Israeli artists the Broken Fingaz Crew, painted in the days preceding the City Of Colours Street Art Festival held in Digbeth Birmingham this weekend (covered here).
Hailing from Israel the Broken Fingaz Crew consists of Deso, Kip, Tant and Unga and have been active together since 2001. Painting with their own distinct illustrative characters, on many occasions these guys can be somewhat risque and outrageous in the mural works, with some pieces painted in London in the past, not lasting long before being buffed out. These pieces take a rather less shocking approach to works they have placed up in recent years around the world and is no less surreal or striking for it, these guys very much have a style of their very own. Featuring a fusion of letters and character work all set to a colour palette that very much reflects a surreal take on the culture and symbology of the subject in the work. In all the piece takes on a rather old-fashioned and retro effect like that of a vintage sign from eras gone by. This delightful trio of works very much stand apart from anything else from the festival in terms of style and subjects, certainly ones to grab your attention upon passing. These works can be found at the top of Lower Trinity Street, where it meets Adderley Street, Digbeth.
