Sunday was certainly a fantastic day to be in Leake Street, with three separate Paint Jams simultaneously underway, offering a wide array of fantastic art to enjoy being constructed amid a jovial and relaxed atmosphere that permeated through the artists, the pieces they painted and with those in attendance admiring the spectacle. We will be posting on each of these three little Paint Jams over the coming days, however we are going to start with the Star Wars Paint Jam.
Ahead of the cinematic release of the latest Star Wars film this week, some eight artists headed down to Leake Street to have a casual Star Wars themed Paint Jam and in doing so left a delightful collection of pieces in a range of styles along the centre of the tunnel.

The superb finished piece, which had some 30 hours of work in it between the 3 artists, and one of the best pieces we have seen down Leake Street this year. The work features a ‘Star Wars’ tag from Olivier Roubieu, which is flanked by 2 hyper-real Storm Trooper characters by JXC and finally Darth Vader on the far right by SkyHigh, who stands in front of the exploding Death Star. Certainly the highlight of an impressive array of works along the tunnel this last Sunday.
The yellow highlights from the explosion in the background are exceptionally well portrayed on the Storm Trooper and Darth Vader.
Not often you get to see Leake Street looking so good,
Pad was unable to attend but made his excuses in good time.
Very good times for these themes. A few days to go for the new movie. 🙂
