The latest addition to the Jealous Gallery roof’s feature wall as a part of the ongoing Jealous Rooftop Mural Project is a work from Shok-1, who paints what he dubs ‘Aerosol X-Ray’ art. Shok-1 uses the many anatomical elements of the human body to transform and create his myriad hybrids of them that distinguish his glowing X-ray compositions, The translucent quality is due to his meticulous technique with cans and caps, and a closely held method at that, in fact when we passed by while Shok-1 was constructing this piece, he didn’t wish to be seen painting through fear of losing his technique. I was fortunate enough to be let up on the roof again by the kind staff of the Jealous Gallery to document and share this piece which is entitled ‘What Your Soul Sounds Like’, depicting a graphic equalizer comprising his trademark X-Ray elements.
