Earlier in 2022 London was fortunate enough to receive a visit from Brazilian street artist Mairanny who took up residency in the capital during the spring and summer and in that time hit up a number of works around East and South London, five of which we were fortunate enough to encounter. Mairanny’s work sets to depict imagery and subjects defined by a fusion of the natural world and the industrialized man-made realm, blending the soft and peaceful natural dynamics with the mechanized and robotic elements to great effect and simultaneously presenting an interesting view on how humanity’s creations continue to takeover and merge with the world that was here long before us. There is also one overriding themed dominant in her work and that is as you shall see the use of the colour green, especially with a predilection for energetic neon touches.
