Here we are playing catch-up with a fantastic piece by local Graffiti Writer Sorez placed up in Penge over the summer for our SprayExhibition20 Community Street Art Project. This works marks the first time Sorez has painted for our project around SE20. The work features Sorez’s distinct funky letter style we have grown accustomed to spotting around London – primarily in the Stockwell Hall of Fame, where Sorez regularly contributes to the ever changing gallery there. Additionally this piece features an accompanying character in the form of comic book charracter Plastic Man who originally appeared in 1941 for Quality Comics and subsequently for DC Comics. in this piece Plastic Man is set leaning out of the wall to fantastic effect providing so much depth to the letters set below.
We would like to offer a big thank you to the respective space owners for again allowing us to find an artist to transform their property. As well as a massive thank you to Sorez for coming by to support this initiative and for leaving such a fantastic artwork in the process. This fantastic work can be found in the Pawleyne Arms and was put up with support from ourselves London Calling Blog for SprayExhibition20.
