Here we are playing catch up with the first of a few visits to Penge and Anerley from stencil artist Dotmaster over the last several months for our SprayExhibition20 community street art project, in this case back in the late summer.
It’s always a pleasure to see artwork from this artist, and even more so to have some added to our hometown. We are consistently impressed by not only the level of detail in Dotmaster’s catalogue of works, but also the range of subjects he cuts and paints. On this visit back in September Dotmaster dropped a small-scale – and exceptionally detailed – photo-realistic multi-layered set of stencil Daffodils held up by gaffa tape as part of the artist’s ‘Gaffa Tape’ series of works from the last year or so – in this case his superbly crafted and named ‘Gaffodils’ made a welcome and lovely addition to Maple Road.
As always we would like to offer a big thank you to Dotmaster for returning to SE20 to paint and support the community project we enjoy spending so much time on. As well as a big thank you to the business owners who donated a new space to our community street art project.
