Here we are playing catch up with a fantastic addition to Penge by Fanakapan, placed up last month for our community Street Art project SprayExhibition20 in Penge. Reworking a wall he first painted at the end of 2016 (covered here) it is most interesting to see how a great wall was replaced with a better one, reflecting how much Fanakapan has pushed his artistic output in the last two and a half years. On this occasion Fanakapan placed up a trio of china figures which he reworked with chrome and fluorescent pink tones and set to create a superb and fun work depicting a china mouse accompanied by a pair of flanking dogs all wearing bowler hats and with the addition of a little make-up this striking piece takes its inspiration from ‘A Clockwork Orange’. The piece generates so much depth and is certainly captivating.
We would like to say thanks to the kind team at Penge DIY in Croydon Road for their support to our project, allowing us to get Fanakapan to again add something so incredible to their property. We also would like to offer a big thanks to Fanakapan for again coming down to SE20 to add this delightful work which really brightens up this road and for keeping the spot fresh. This stunning work can be found in Evelina Road, Penge.
