Here we are taking a look at a recent addition to Penge from Street Artist Aspire who tackled our a second spot in conjunction with Network Rail for SprayExhibition20 and did so in first class style. Truly a captivating scene set in that delicate soft effect that defines Aspire’s own style of ethereal realism which exudes so much life and warmth through his exquisite creations. On this occasion Aspire has for the first time around Penge opted for something a tad more exotic in his subject than we normally see, with his pair of symmetric set Great Hornbills aptly entitled ‘Double Trouble’, making fantastic use of the dirty brick work and really bringing some colour and life to this corner of SE20.
We would of course like to say thank you to all the local residents and businesses for helping making this new aspect of the project come into being. A BIG thank you to the helpful team at Network Rail for all their support in helping us get Aspire to add something so interesting, beautiful and thought-provoking for the community to enjoy. Shout out to Kevin for all the help with this spot, and Joseph at the Alexandra for keeping the guys fed and hydrated, appreciated immensely! We also of course would like to offer a big thank you to Aspire for again coming down to Penge to leave some more of his beautiful artwork. This work can be found in Penge Lane, Penge.
