Last month saw one of the worlds most famous global Graffiti & Street Art festivals finally return to London for its 11th anniversary in the UK with a fantastic event comprised of painting, music and all round fun by the many people in attendance. The very nature of the event is defined in the name – Meeting of Styles – setting to showcase writers and artists from all over the globe presenting a full range of Graffiti and Street Art styles.
The event was organised through the hard work of London’s very own Jim Vision and Matilda of EndOfTheLine – without any sponsorship this year – and set up in and around the Nomadic Community Gardens for its fourth year here now, a location that over the three years since its conception has propelled itself to the position of one of the must see locations to witness Street Art in London. Additionally there were extra works placed up in the adjacent park of Allen Gardens and Pedley Street.
Making for our fourth visit to Meeting OF Styles we very much enjoyed this years event, which offered a superb and diverse range of Graffiti and Street Art, as well as live music in a variety of styles really offering something for everyone to enjoy. It was a delight to enjoy the workings of so many of London’s resident artists as well as being exposed to so many artists and writers that either rarely paint in London or even have never had the chance to previously, drawing in talent from all around the globe for this one great weekend. The atmosphere was fantastic with a real sense of energy permeating the entire weekend and leaving a superb body of works in its wake, all punctuated by the glorious weather – minus a storm or two – that accomapnied most o the festivities. It’s only fair to say well done to EndOfTheLine for organizing such a hit.

‘We Disappear’ by Nomad Clan duo Aylo & CBloxx. The standout works from the weekend with as ever from this pair a thought-provoking piece based on recent issues involving the “predatory approach of corporations who non-consensually use artists work for advertising”. Haunting and sadly true.
