It’s taken us a while to share our visit from the opening night of Alo’s fantastic solo exhibition ‘Exit From Aden’ currently on show at the Saatchi Gallery, marking Alo’s second exhibition in London, with his first being in 2011 also at the Saatchi Gallery. In this show Italian born, but London based, artist Alo presents a breadth of works executed across canvas, wood, cardboard and paper and all featuring his own brand of urban expressionist abstract portraiture based on subjects including real people Alo observes on the streets, people from the media as well as mythical creatures and their role in society or stories. Very much an impressive show with a body of works demonstrating a range that is very much Alo but additionally presenting an interesting departure from the works we see from Alo on our trips around the East End.
