Sunday saw the latest Paint Jam to hit Leake Street with the Do1Cancer event which saw a host of Graffiti Writers and Street Artists hit the legal walls in this tunnel to raise awareness and money for Cancer Research. Following from last years Battle Cancer Paint Jam which was organized via social media by Charlie Pugh in response to discovering his girlfriend had breast cancer, this years event also organized by Charlie Pugh was in tribute to fellow painter Gnasher’s step-mother Andi who passed this year from Bowel Cancer. Setting to raise money for Colchester Hospital’s Cancer Centre Campaign the event saw some 40 artists come together to paint for a most worthy cause and raise some awareness and funds for much needed research and care. The event raised over £1500 on the day and so far another £1000 for Colchester Hospital, which is great to see after such an impressive and erstwhile event was put on. Sadly nothing lasts forever, especially in somewhere like Leake Street, so for those of you who didn’t get to make it along enjoy the impressive array of works below. You can still donate money to the campaign via. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/do1cancer2016

Hey – this is amazing…I coincidentally happened to be in London on Monday, staying the night in Vauxhall. I walked over to Leake Street and photographed all these walls for my blog (a kind of ‘on tour’ sort of thing). I had no Idea about the jam until I got back to Bristol. I have written my first post (publishing in a day or two) on the Gnasher piece. I have linked to your blog, as my knowledge of London street art is so limited.
I think I got really lucky.
