It’s taken us a while to catch up with this post but we wanted to share our visit to the Illustrated 2016 event at the Old Truman Brewery held a few weekends back. Running from the 10-12 June the event showcased a broad range of artists presenting a wealth of diverse illustrative styles from artists from around the world, and even some sculpture pieces. In conjunction with the interesting array of works there was a variety of events including live music performances, seminars, workshops and a live painting Secret Walls battle (which we will be looking at in more depth soon). In its sixth year the event, organized by Marc Farrington has certainly grown since it was originally known as Showcase Cities, launching in 2010 with a regular series of small East London events featuring local artists and performers. We very much enjoyed our time at the impressive event, always appreciating the opportunity to discover works by artists previously unbeknownst to us and we look forward to seeing what Illustrated 2017 brings to London next summer.
