On Thursday we here at London Calling Blog were fortunate enough to catch Oliver Roubieu, one of London’s more prolific Street Artists, at work on his latest piece which he dubbed as ‘Needlepoint Granny Graff’ in Leake Street. For his latest work, Oliver decided to go with a Graffiti piece in the interesting style of a needlepoint design tag, which is accompanied by a hyper-realistic depiction of hand that is set to appear as if creating his spray painted tag by needle and signed off with that now seemingly all-so-familiar, yet still exciting manic splash of paint at the heart of his subject. As is always the case with any great works you catch in Leake Street, one feels a little sad to think that such time and effort will result in such a short-lived presence for the piece, adversely it makes you feel even more fortunate to have been able to catch the piece in its intended glory before it rapidly disappears.

The superb finished piece.
The shadow of the needle really is one of the small touches that bring this piece to life.
Outstanding and to the point ! …..
