Last Saturday we were lucky enough to attend our second large-scale collaboration work from Psychodoodlz in Leake Street and witness the culmination of nearly a weeks effort which saw several artists take on the impressive task of setting to paint the Leake Street Tunnel ceiling. This was certainly no easy feat and it’s not often now that you get to see something which is very much a first in a location that has played host to literally thousands upon thousands of works over the last decade.
This work was unfortunately absent of member Fane who was unable to attend the proceedings, but did however feature work from three new Psychodoodlz members namely Angus, Lev Zander and New Art Rioter, as well as members Marc Craig, Nolijart, Kednog, and Aly Williamson.
The ethos behind Psychodoodlz is to form a collective of like-minded artists setting to work as a whole to create organically produced spontaneous artwork, in the form of doodles, notable for the lack of any sense of individual ego in the production of their works, only a pursuit of creativity and collaboration for the greater good of the overall piece, and most importantly, fun.
It is hard to believe in the last decade no one has attempted to paint a mural across the entire breadth of a section of the tunnel, however Psychodoodlz are certainly ambitious and seemingly made easy work of this large and fantastic overhead mural that really is a sight to behold and certainly brightens up this dark paint haven with the added feature of now offering somewhere else to look for your art fix whilst in Leake Street.

Wow indeed. And it only took 3 days? Loved that you were able to record it come together too. Reminds me of that Canadian group En Masse Project who painted the Village Underground wall earlier this year.
My bad Tanya, i didn’t articulate well, this took some 5 days in total. Good call about the similarity to En Masse project, both works have such tribal overtones.
No worries. Thanks for the correct info. Glad you can see that similarity with En Masse too. I must get down soon before this one goes….
The wall element is now gone, but ceiling should be safe for time being, it does really add a new sense of character to the tunnel though.
Reminds me of cave painters… Nice works folks
Psychodoodlz are an amazing bunch!
Very cool
AWESOME!!!!
