For this morning’s catch up on street art from the last year we are taking a look at a piece by visiting American street artist CPWON, who over the summer left this striking work around Brick Lane. CPWON’s output is focused upon realistic depictions of classical statues reminiscent of antiquities one would see from Ancient Greece and Rome or the Renaissance period, which are then given a distorted or extended dynamic to a key feature or two, creating a lovely combination of precise features and surrealism. This work can be found in Hanbury Street, Brick Lane, and was put up with support from Not Banksy Forum.
