Next up in our long run of catching up with what we have been up to in our corner of South-East London over the recent few months we are taking a look at a fantastic work from street artist Dan Kitchener placed up a during the summer in Penge for our SprayExhibition20 community street art project.
Taking to Evelina Road, Dan Kitchener repainted a spot he first painted five years ago on what was one of the very first walls donated to the project. Certainly making for an interesting case of seeing how Dan Kitchener’s Liquid Lights creations have evolved over the years as he continues to define his expressive style, for his updated work on this spot. For this work titled Tokyo Street Racers Dan Kitchener maintained his distinctive Japanese inspired street scenes featuring cars and people walking in the rain – though this time featuring a futuristic Tokyo scene featuring at its centre a cyborg geisha accompanied by a robot character in the foreground, both flanked by a pair of Lamborghini traveling in and out of the artwork, creating an exceptional amount of depth in this striking work.
We of course wish to say a massive thank you to the owners of the space who kindly donated a spot and trusted us to work it. As well as a really big thank you to Dan Kitchener for coming back to the area to support this initiative and for leaving another vibrant and beautiful artwork in the process.
