We have quite a few older works to catch up with from the last six or so months from around Penge and Anerley as part of our thriving SprayExhibition20 community street art project. The first of which we are going to share with you is from April this year and is by TRUST.iCON. Through his artistic output Trust Icon sets to capture a moment or a snapshot from his, and many peoples childhood, combined with his own style of poignant insight or humour often based on subjects from popular culture injected into each design, making his style his very own and his works what they are. His latest addition to SE20 is no exception with a piece that is very much influenced by the events of the last year with this clever take on the social distancing measures that were in place. The work is titled Box of Chocolates and inspired by the film Forest Gump and features the main character from the film sat on the iconic bench, with the TRUST.iCON twist of being set wearing a mask and sat on his own with nobody to share his story with, just accompanied by a sign advising to not sit on the bench and a bottle of hand sanitizer. This fantastic work can be seen in St John’s Road, Penge and was put up with support from ourselves London Calling Blog.
