New Mei Mei Street Art in Penge & Anerley

Next up in our long run of catching up with what we have been up to in our corner of London over the recent few months we are taking a look at a series of five miniature works from artist Mei Mei placed up at the end of the summer around Penge and Anerley for our SprayExhibition20 community street art project.

In her work Mei Mei sets to find a balance between the innocence and darkness intrinsic to human nature, to portray a simultaneous meeting between that which is nice and that which is sinister. This set of artworks marked the first and only time we received some pre-made installations since Cbinagirl Tile visited Penge in 2016, it was certainly a pleasure having these placed up all around SE20.

We of course wish to say a massive thank you to each of the business owners who kindly donated a space and trusted us to work it. As well as a really big thank you to Mei Mei for coming by to support this initiative and for leaving such a lovely series of artworks in the process.

  1. I would LOVE to get a relief, sculpture, anything by Mei Mei. Can I get a contact for her. I think she is AMAZING!
