A few of weekends back saw Spanish born, but London based Street Artist Sr. X take to the iconic wall of the Village Underground in Shoreditch, one of the hottest painting spots in London. Truly an artist with a style of his own who through his work sets to subvert the norms and traditional ideals with those all so humorous and at times dark twists that are very much exemplify Sr. X’s sense of sharp wit and fun, criticizing the over-abundance of pop culture and values it sets to install on society from above. On this occasion the work entitled “Penitenxiagite” very much exemplifies the surreal dynamic and power in Sr. X’s subjects with this dominating male figure fused with the dream like matter prevalent in his work making the flowing beard. This work can be found in Holywell Lane, Shoreditch.
