Fanakapan Paints The Village Underground

Playing catch up with this post and are taking a look at Fanakapan’s most recent London work with the fantastic mural he recently painted on the iconic Village Underground wall in the heart of Shoreditch a couple of weeks back. The piece entitled ‘Powertools, Distraction, Destruction’ is certainly intriguing, depicting a mixture of chrome and glass based subjects with the central dynamic featuring a chrome gloved hand playing with or setting to catch the glass globe whilst being flanked on the left by a childs wheel along phone toy and a revolver on the right, the tools with which the world distracts and destroys itself with. A rather surreal work with a lot to say and so fantastically executed aesthetically, always a pleasure to see work from Fanakapan and this is at current the largest work we here at London Calling Blog have seen from the artist and he very much hasn’t disappointed. This excellent work can be found in Holywell Lane, Shoreditch.
