Last week saw another flyby visit from Broken Fingaz crew members Tant and Unga who whilst over left London with two little works to remember them by. Painting with their own distinct illustrative characters, on many occasions these guys can be somewhat risque and outrageous in the mural works, with some pieces painted in London in the past, not lasting long before being buffed out. These pieces take a rather less shocking approach to works they have placed up in recent years around the world and is no less surreal or striking for it, these guys very much have a style of their very own. Featuring a fusion of letters and character work all set to a colour palette that very much reflects a surreal take on the culture and symbology of the subject in the work. In all the piece takes on a rather old-fashioned and retro effect like that of a vintage sign from eras gone by.
Surreal and striking work in Redchurch Street, Shoreditch. We are not going to pretend we know what this work is about but we do like it very much.
‘Oh! Those Fingaz…’ along the canal in Hackney Wick, it’s been a while since these guys came and placed up anything remotely as outrageous as this and a pleasure to see, doubt it will last long.
