Last Thursday night at the Stolenspace Gallery in Osborne Street, just off Brick Lane the latest exhibition, in association with and co-curated by Los Angeles Gallery Thinkspace opened to what was certainly a packed out show. The gallery was full to the rafters on opening night and it is no surprise when you consider what is on offer. The Exhibition features artists that both the London gallery Stolenspace represent and many artists represented by the LA based Thinkspace Gallery, showcasing a rooster comprising over 100 artists, with several artists displaying two works, and over a 130 works in total to gaze upon. The exhibition has an incredible range of works, offering something for everyone, featuring a diverse number of styles and mediums in the process, but what is most impressive is the general standard of work on display.
Group shows can and often are a mixed bag, in which you come away enjoying some artists and works, but not others, this show however has a consistently exceptional standard across the board, which really is impressive when one considers the size of this audacious presentation.
The vast majority of works are all set to a uniform size of 12×12 inches, as well as 15 or so larger works set at 32×32 inches. We only have a quarter or so of the exhibiting artists featured here, as there really is just too much to share otherwise. For us the highlights of the show were provided by Evoca1, Low Bros, Nychos, Beau Stanton, Rone and David Cooley
The show runs until October 4th, so if you haven’t already, be sure to head along to check out this outstanding exhibition, we can’t imagine London will be fortunate enough to see such a strong group show, especially one on such a vast scale and that offers to chance to discover so many artists from around the world. A truely superb job from Stolenspace and Thinkspace.
