Conor Harrington’s work draws a fine line between classical and contemporary art, the historical and hypermodern, which has led to him painting all around the world to critical acclaim. The Irish-born former graffiti artist creates hyper-realistic images of people, incorporating abstract and obscured elements to accompany his painted subjects. Harrington often focuses in great detail on certain parts of the figure while obscuring others through his use of techniques including bold line work, shading and a striking colour palette to accompany his painterly style. This superb and large scale work put up in Walthamstow E17 as a part of the Wood Street Walls project took just over two days to complete, which is impressive going when you see the scale of the work involved, look at the car in the image below for some sense of scale.
