As Autumn rolled into winter the Penge area was lucky to gain a series 0f seven incredible artworks from street artist Irony. Certainly no stranger to the area, Irony was one of the first artists to paint for our community initiative ten years ago, and in that time they have hit up a substantial number of pieces which have always been some of the best contributions to the project. These works are no exception. Our favourite aspect of Irony’s street pieces is their ability to consistently take on awkward or unconventional spots and completely own them – this is best demonstrated below by the recent addition to Westbury Road in the form of a black cat peering over a bush. The fantastic array of works below were put up with support from ourselves London Calling Blog as part of our SprayExhibition20 community street art project.
