Next up we are taking a look at a series of three artworks placed up during 2024 by Polish born, but London based, street artist Airborne Mark, of which we are very fortunate that all three pieces he painted this year are in our corner of the world. Airborne Mark’s key focus in his art is origami, allowing him the chance to work his case studies in light and shadow through his favoured paper platforms. Of which he folds virtually all of his own reference models before photographing them in dramatic lighting and then ultimately painting them. Airborne Mark really is a one man production line. This year Airborne Mark has continued the motif of incorporating an additional accompaniment to his paper models, namely stationery in the form of paper clips, drawing pins, bulldog clips and string. This has made for some very interesting works that so naturally fit into the realm of paper whilst simultaneously allowing the artist to paint different structures and surfaces. Ever a pleasure to see art from this talented individual and it is normally difficult to look at a run of works from this artist and pick a favourite. Though not on this occasion, it is the horse focused piece which is nothing short of exceptional, one can see the time and effort that went into this piece. The works below were each placed up at the Penge Rooftop Gallery with support from London Calling Blog.
