For our next blog post catching up with 2024, we are again in our corner of South-East London and looking at one of the area’s most consistently active artists over the last decade, namely Aspire. We have been treated to a dozen pieces from this artist over the year, with 11 featuring his favoured bird subjects – with the Blue Tit, being subject of choice – and one letters piece. Aspire’s striking soft realistic animals are always accompanied by such beautiful scenes or over the last couple of years or so increasingly his natural subjects are accompanied by various items of humans consumption, some natural, some manufactured. We have also had a couple of pieces from Aspire’s Firestick Series land in Penge. It is impressive to see the constant experimentation and various stylings with which he presents his predominantly avian subjects. This superb trio of works were placed up at the Penge Rooftop Gallery, Penge, and were put up with support from ourselves London Calling Blog.
