A few months back saw American street artist Sophy Tuttle pass through London and whilst on her brief visit to London she took the time to visit Penge and paint her first mural in London, and what a stunner it was. Painting with a combination of spray paint and with brushes and emulsion, Sophy Tuttle painted a striking Great Blue Heron as the main subject, which is native to her homeland, along with a smaller Red Squirrel and a Barn Owl which are native to the UK. We have admired this artist’s work from afar, but this piece marked the first time we got to see a piece of hers in person and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Hopefully it won’t be long until we see this artist pass through London and paint again, but for now we are grateful to have had this piece go up in our hometown. The striking work below was placed up at the Penge Rooftop Gallery, Penge, with support from ourselves London Calling Blog for our SprayExhibition20 community street art project.
