New Emic Street Art in Penge

During the summer London received a visit from Belfast artist Emic who whilst over took the time to visit Penge and place up a pair of stunning works that are among the highlights of a year absolutely packed with pieces. Taking to a spot in Maple Road – which hosts the area’s biggest concentration of street art – , and to the Penge Rooftop Gallery, Emic shared a portrait and a still life scene, which both showcased not just interesting designs, but how masterful he is with a spray can. The effect in each of these captivating and striking artworks is incredible fusing incredibly delicate realism with bold and bright block geometrics, bringing classical art worthy of the Old Masters of the Renaissance period together with very modern aesthetics to excellent effect. We for one sincerely hope Emic returns to London to share his talents before too long, and even more so that it may get to be in Penge again. In the meantime we consider ourselves very privileged that this artist’s only piece in London currently is on our doorstep and we get to enjoy on a daily basis. Both of the superb pieces below were placed up with support from ourselves London Calling Blog for our SprayExhibition20 community street art project.
