New Trust Icon Street Art in Penge

For our next blog post we are taking a look back at a trio of excellent additions to Penge over the summer by the fantastic stencil artist TRUST.iCON for our community mural project SprayExhibition20. Through his artistic output TRUST.iCON sets to capture a moment or a snapshot from his, and many peoples childhood, combined with his own style of poignant insight or humour often based on subjects from popular culture injected into each design, making his style his very own and his works what they are. His latest additions to SE20 over the last year are no exception. iCON has also continued to demonstrate his ability to come up with designs that suit quirky and unconventional spots absolutely perfectly. It had been a couple of years since we had seen any fresh artwork from this artist, and it is definitely safe to say he hasn’t lost his edge or knack. We are also exceptionally privileged to have been able to host Icon’s largest artwork to date at the Penge Rooftop Gallery. It is always a pleasure to see art from this artist and all the more so when it’s in our home town. These fantastic works below were put up around Penge with support from ourselves London Calling Blog.

Epic work at the Penge Rooftop inspired by the war torn world we are living in right and so well articulated with Superman saving a child from a fatal blow coming from the bomb above. This work also makes exceptional use of the space, splitting the wall in two – painting the tiles into the wall really brings the illusion out. On point message, masterfully executed, this really is one of the best artworks the Penge Rooftop Gallery has hosted and in our opinion, one of the very best London has hosted this last year.
