Next up we are playing catch up with a pair of fantastic works by East Anglian based stencil artist Jola, who has certainly made herself busy around London over the last couple of years. It has been impressive to see how JoLA has scaled her work up in 2024, taking to significantly bigger spots than we saw her painting last year. Of the two works below, the first one in Anerley is our favourite, offering a sad message that really needs asking, very well articulated from the artist. We look forward to seeing what 2025 brings from this artist and hope it isn’t to long before they return to Penge to leave some more brilliant stencil works in our neck of the woods.
The works below in Anerley & Penge were placed up with support from ourselves London Calling Blog for our community mural project SprayExhibition20. We of course wish to say a massive thank you to JoLA for supporting our community initiative by taking the time to visit SE20 whilst traveling to London, and for leaving such a brilliant series of artworks in our corner of the world in the process. As well as a thank you to each of the respective property owners in SE20 for donating their spaces to our community project.

Anyone Listening in Thornsett Place, Anerley.

Work at the Penge Rooftop Gallery, Penge.
