Earlier this year French street artist Xavier Prou, aka Blek le Rat – the original stencil artist was in London for a show of his work and whilst here hit up a few pieces, with one in Leake Street, that is currently buried under perspex and two little rat stencils in Soho. It was an exceptional treat to have such a historically significant figure in the scene, someone who has been painting for over forty years, having first started painting in Paris in 1981, pass through London and leave a pair of his iconic rats up. Taking to the shop front of a coffee shop in Soho, he placed up one rat carrying a sparkler and the other carrying a coffee mug. These fantastic mini-stencils can be found in Beak Street, Soho.
