Here we are playing catch up with a pair of works placed up earlier this year in Penge, South London, by street artist Vinnie Nylon for our SprayExhibition20 community street art project, the first along Penge High Street and the second up at the Penge Rooftop Gallery. Presenting a pair of pieces inspired by the Figuration Libre movement from the 1980’s, Vinnie Nylon takes that style and channels it in to painting ethnographic subjects, with a focus on people, animals and pots. It was a pleasure to have this artist come and paint about SE20 yet again in order to add some more diversity to the towns ever expanding art gallery in the form of his interesting compositions.
