New Banksy Street Art in Finsbury Park

Next up in our blog posts playing catch up with works and pieces we have had the pleasure of seeing through 2024, we are taking a look at what turned out to be the first of ten artworks placed up by the ever illusive and mythical Street Artist Banksy in London this year. The Tree Mural went up in late March in Finsbury Park, North London featured rough bold splatters of green paint on a wall behind a tree in a declining state, which had been cut back by the council in an attempt to preserve it, giving an abstract appearance of foliage, with a stencil of a person holding a pressure hose next to it. The work suggests with it’s ecological focus offers a view on how nature is struggling and it is up to wider society to help it grow back. This intriguing artwork was placed up in Hornsey Street, Finsbury Park and is currently completely covered in hoardings, which went up within 48 hours of the artwork emerging.
