For our next post playing catch up with works and pieces we have had the pleasure of seeing through 2024, we are taking a look at an incredible large-scale artwork by French born, but London based, street artist Mister Tris that was placed up in Penge in the cold January weather. Amid gale force winds high up a scaffold tower seven floors above Penge High Street, Mister Tris set to kick off the year painting this captivating and beautiful dreamlike surreal scene. The work features a sailboat gracefully flying through the sky high above central London – with the iconic Tower Bridge set below – being trailed by sea gulls as it floats through the gulls. This work in its striking orange and purple colour scheme has so much depth in terms of the artwork’s perspective and the subject matter. It is truly beguiling and without contest one of the stand out works of 2024. It was an absolute pleasure to have this artwork placed up in our hometown and it has been amazing to see how Mister Tris just keeps continuously upping his artistic game and is getting the walls he deserves in the UK and all around Europe. This absolutely stunning work was placed up at the Penge Rooftop Gallery, Penge, and was put up with support from ourselves London Calling Blog.
