New Aspire Street Art in Penge

For our next blog post catching up with 2024, we are again in our corner of South-East London and looking at one of the area’s most consistently active artists over the last decade, namely Aspire. To kick off the first makeover of the Penge Rooftop Gallery for the year, Aspire hit up a trio of fantastic artworks, with two aviary focused scenes on the top floors and one letter based work under cover one floor below. One scene – and our favourite of the three – features a pair of Tits – one Great Tit and one Blue Tit set a top a bullet ridden watermelon. The next work was a follow up to the first of his Firestick Series which was placed up in Peckham a couple of weeks prior, again featuring a Blue Tit. Lastly the letter work offered something a little different, though not completely alien, from Aspire’s usual subject of animal focused portraits or scenes, but was definitely exciting to see him show off some letters. This superb trio of works were placed up at the Penge Rooftop Gallery, Penge, and were put up with support from ourselves London Calling Blog.
