A couple of months ago London received a visit from Bristol street artist Farrah Fortnam who took to a garage door in a cul-de-sac and painted this superb dinosaur work for her son’s birthday, which was an exceptional coincidence with the historic dinosaur lake in Crystal Palace Park being located just 15 minutes up the road. Working with acrylic paints and brushes Farrah made great use of the spaces and left a superb T-Rex in her distinct and immediately recognisable styling, accompanied by a stark reminder that with the destruction humanity is wreaking on the natural world it won’t be long until humans end up extinct just like a her subject. Despite being from London this is the first time this talented artist has painted in the city and we feel extremely lucky to have been able to host the only artwork this artist currently has placed up in London and hope it isn’t too long before she returns to leave her mark again.
We would like to say a massive thank you to Farrah Fortnam for taking the time to visit SE20 on her visit to London in order to support our community artistic initiative and for leaving this absolutely fantastic artwork for ourselves and the locals to enjoy in the process. We would also like to say a big thank you to the generous garage owner who donated the space and trusted us to work it. This striking work was placed up in Thornsett Place, Anerley, with support from London Calling Blog for SprayExhibition20.
