Next up in our look back at 2023 we are taking a look at a more recent work, placed up just a few weeks ago by French born, but London based, street artist Olivier Roubieu. Making for the second time Olivier Roubieu has come to Penge to paint since we started our Sprayexhibition20 community mural project in February 2016, it has again been a pleasure to have this artist come paint some of his distinct portraiture work. In this instance we have a striking portrait titled Father and Son presenting a lovely scene, as the title suggests, of the love between a father and his child. In addition to the warm and soulful imagery, we love the layered elements of realism, minimalism, deconstruction, and drip work to create the wholesome and rich total.
We would like to say a big thank you to Olivier Roubieu for taking the time to visit SE20 in order to support our community artistic initiative and leaving this fantastic artwork for ourselves and the locals to enjoy in the process. This striking work was placed up in Southey Street, Penge, with support from ourselves London Calling Blog.
