During 2023 Penge was fortunate enough to receive two visits from German Stencil artist Eins92 who left six of his incredible multi-layered stencil works in SE20 during his first visit and a further trio of fantastic artworks during his second visit. Crafting miniature stencils that are exceptionally well detailed it is most impressive to see the effect generated by Eins92 through such a style and on such a scale.

Eins92 can lay claim to having created the smallest paintings Penge has yet to see, and Penge can also lay claim to hosting his only artworks up in the entire UK. In fact Penge currently has eleven artworks up in Penge, from four visits between 2018 and 2023. If you find his artworks about town, you can tell which visit they were placed up during, by the colour scheme. So the two green-scale works were placed up in 2018 and 2020, during his first and second visit to the area. The black and white works were placed up in January 2023 during his third visit to the area. The red-scale artworks were placed up in the summer of 2023 during his fourth and latest visit to the area.

On this occasion in Penge Eins92 painted a local resident – Photographer Portrait Per Day – as well as series of four works inspired by the sense of despair and isolation so many felt during the lockdowns of the 2020 pandemic. Offering such fun and/or emotional depth, style and true tonal delight through his creations it is always a pleasure to see and have his stencils up around SE20.
