Next up we are taking a look at a pair of striking works placed up in Penge earlier this year, by Spanish born, but London based, stencil artist Rice. It’s fair to say that both of his artworks below are very much influenced by life in the UK, with the first scene below featuring a fox alongside a gentleman in a bowler hat and the with the second artwork below with its destructive dynamic set astride a portion of fish and chips. One of the stand things about this artist, beyond his range of interesting scenes, is the effect he creates using stencils, generating such a layered and rich textured dynamic that is not immediately associated with his chosen technique.
We would like to say a big thank you to Rice for taking the time to come to our corner of London in order to support our community artistic initiative and leaving this pair of fantastic artworks for ourselves and the locals to enjoy in the process. The works below were placed up in Maple Road, Penge, with support from ourselves London Calling Blog.
