New MMG Street Art in Anerley

One of the best things about documenting and facilitating street art and graffiti in our fine city is constantly discovering and meeting new artists whose talents and creativity were previously unknown to us. To that end earlier this year in cold dark January we received our first international visitor to our corner of the city, from Portuguese muralist MMG, who left a striking portrait upon a garage door in Anerley for our SprayExhibition20 community project.

Painting with acrylic paint and brushes, MMG painted a beautiful purple-scale female portrait set popping off the flatter colourful background. We feel very privileged to have been able to host the only artwork this artist has ever placed up in London and hope it isn’t too long before she graces our home city to leave her mark again.

We would like to say a big thank you to MMG for taking the time to visit SE20 on her visit to London in order to support our community artistic initiative and leaving this beautiful portrait for ourselves and the locals to enjoy in the process. This striking work was placed up in Thornsett Place, Anerley, with support from ourselves London Calling Blog.
