Thursday night saw the opening of the ‘Displacement’ group exhibition in Bethnal Green organized Skeleton Cardboard in association with The Hidden Streets Of London. The show presents works from some twenty-five artists who have all painted in Clare Street, home of the exhibition, over the last two years filling this little industrial corner with colour and life. Very much an excellent way to celebrate what The Hidden Streets Of London and all these artists have achieved in adding beauty to this area, which is sadly set for demolition in the name of the increasing gentrification process within the East End. In addition to the fantastic array of art pieces on display the location of this exhibition in a side section and series of alcoves of a steelworks below the train lines, certainly a place with lots of atmosphere and one which suits artworks displayed within. The exhibition can be found at One Little Girl & A Can Of Gasoline 299 Clare Street, Bethnal Green, E2 9HD and tuns until July 14th – open until 6pm.
