The ‘Strictly Cardboard’ Group Show In Soho

Last night we were fortunate enough to attend the private viewing of the ‘Strictly Cardboard’ group Street Art exhibition, the latest installment of initiatives for part of the ‘Soho Takeover’ curated by the OnArtsCollective in Soho. The show features as the name suggests ‘Strictly Cardboard’, presenting a body of works either painted on cardboard or made from cardboard, offering a range of styles and mediums, as well as a few paintings added to the gallery walls’ courtesy of Artista, Roo & Vova Zomb. Very much an impressive array of works on display and all round excellent use of the space with the many additions to the gallery appropriating the symbology and instructions found on cardboard boxes. Most of all though the show demonstrates that verstile streak prevalent in so many artists to make something creative from someones waste.

The ‘Strictly Cardboard’ exhibition can be found at 47 Poland Street in Soho and runs until October 8th, so if you haven’t already,  be quick and head along today to see this great show for yourselves, you won’t be disappointed.

Pair of works – which are much larger than they look in the picture we might add – by the one and only Skeleton Cardboard, couldn’t really do this group show without this artist.

Work by Matthew Kolakowski, with a series of boxes converted into cardboard suitcases, a great installation also that at first glance appears to be a pile of discarded boxes.
